Symptoms of skin cancer

  • Basal cell carcinoma
Basal cell carcinoma, as the name suggests, develops in the basal cells of your skin. There are several symptoms of this condition. It can be in the form of a red patch, a sore that does not heal quickly, indented center, or a shiny bump. The color of the shiny bump depends on the color of the person’s skin. For instance, a person with fair skin would have shiny bump that was white, red, or pink. For someone with darker skin, the color of the shiny bump would be black, blown, or tan.
  • Squamous cell carcinoma
The squamous cell carcinomas are mostly found on the body parts of people that are more excessively exposed to the sun. They have even appeared on the inside of a person’s mouth, or even on their genitals. People might get open sores, red patches, warts, and indents. They may even bleed, so they should be shown to a doctor immediately.
  • Melanoma
Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that is not commonly found in people. But even though this is not a common type of skin cancer, it is considered to be the most serious one. For men, melanoma is known to affect areas on the back, chest, head, and even the neck. When it comes to women, melanoma has known to develop mainly on the legs. It is mostly known that skin cancer is mainly caused due to this skin being exposed to ultraviolet rays of the sun. But in case of melanoma, people can develop this type of cancer even though they have not been exposed to the sun. The most common signs include a brown spot having darker speckles, or a lesion that is painful and may cause itching. Some other signs of melanoma also include a mole that may change in size and color, and might even bleed. Individuals may even get dark lesions. These are found on the palms, toes, fingertips, or even on the mucus membranes lining their noses, mouths, anuses, or vaginas. The symptoms vary widely on the type of cancer and also what causes it.

Causes of skin cancer
